ISLAMABAD:The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the Federal Investigation Agencys (FIA) report into the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam case and also summoned the interior secretary.
The chief justice observed that the FIA is trying to protect influential people. He said this was public money that was under jeopardy and the FIA should recover the Rs18 billion rupees till January 26.
Justice Iftikhar said the agency should either recover the amount or arrest all the accused.
The chief justice said the main culprit in the case has not been arrested. He asked the authorities to make some progress and stop trying to protect the influential people.
The court has also summoned the interior and commerce secretaries and sought the NICLs audit report.
